's-Hertogenbosch, 2013 - THEYESFOUNDATION presents 2012: a movie about 2013. How do artists deal with the insecurities coming with changes in society? How does this influence their life and work? A short movie (27'11") in collaboration with fellow artists.
Always alive
2012, the year of major cuts in cultural budgets in the Netherlands. Fourteen people talk about their ambitions, drives, daily routine and financial situation. They all have a degree from an Art Academy. But then the similarities end quickly.
Rieneke De Vries and Klaas Burger composed their stories into a visual essay. The breeding ground art demands for at it’s core: sometimes difficult, often slow, but always alive. Plus some sound design and visual effects.
